35mm

Overview

The NK-2Sh is a medium-speed, panchromatic black and white motion picture film, made for those who see the world in shades of light and shadow. Moody, great for shadow work and true to its roots as a cinema film, it delivers a distinctly dramatic, mid-century Soviet cinematic look.

With its thin, strong polyester base, the NK-2Sh offers high contrast, sharp detail and a classic cinematic tonal character. It performs beautifully in natural light and under enhanced lighting in the pavilion. Made in Ukraine.

Handling notes

  • Because of its thin base and clear backing, it is prone to light piping.
  • Load in subdued light.
  • Not recommended for cameras with automatic motorized rewind due to the lack of a DX code and the physical traits of the bulk-cut stock.
  • Can be processed in standard black-and-white chemistry, such as standard Kodak D-76 processing.
